Procrastination is not your friend ~ Auto insurance is your friend
Do you ever put off doing stuff today because you just don’t want to bother with it at the moment? If so, you know about procrastination and if you do this on your auto insurance premium bill it could result in a very expensive lesson.
Your financial wellbeing is in jeopardy if you procrastinate paying your car insurance bill and you may be setting yourself or your family up for some serious financial hardship. Insurance is one thing you may hate but can't financially survive without. No one likes paying those expensive premiums especially when we feel that we don't get anything back for our hard earned money. In comparison, if you paid out that amount of money on a vacation, you would have wonderful memories and tokens of your trip to enjoy every day. But because you don’t see the value of your insurance premium unless you actually experience a loss, it seems like you are throwing a lot of money away and getting nothing for it.
Change your way of thinking! When payment is made as expected you have the financial backing of the insurance company to pay for damages that result from an accident. Those damages could be medical bills or car repairs to get you back on the road safely. We probably all know someone that has been hit by an uninsured driver or someone that has been that uninsured driver involved in an accident with another person. These are real experiences either of your own or of someone you know. And the worst thing is uninsured and underinsured losses happen every day resulting in financial loss to the other guy that got hit and that is why we all should pay our insurance bills. We want that financial protection so that we are not left without a vehicle, with a pile of medical bills and no easy way to dig out on our own.
Your insurance company will reward you with reduced rates if you pay your bill on time, everytime!
If your first reaction when you receive your insurance bill in mail is to set it aside to deal with it later when you have more money, then you are procrastinating your way to eventual trouble. Waiting for the last minute to pay your bill will eventually mean experiencing a delay in the mail delivery and missing the deadline or what if you come down with the flu and can’t lift your head off the pillow let alone head out to the post office to mail your payment. These are real life situations that occur every day in insurance agencies across the country.
The best solution: Have your bills paid automatically through EFT (electronic funds transfer) or pay them in full for the year. The amount of money you save each year in installment fees will make for a nice evening out that you deserve for being a smart and responsible bill payer. Your family may never know the benefits of your good behavior but you will as you can be sure you are saving yourself a lot of headache and heartache over what might have happened if you continued to procrastinate. You will also gain renewal credits with most companies for your prompt and continued service which will ultimately put more money in your pocket in the long run.
Give yourself a break, don’t procrastinate!
